Why are we here anyway?

Underwater nude photography

We got an email from a potential member today asking about the purpose of Model Society. Is it to sell prints? Is it for networking? Is it like Model Mayhem? What is the benefit to the photographers and models who join?

While many Model Society members (and art lovers) have been active helping us shape our message and build an audience, some of you might be asking… “What the hell are we here for anyway?”

So we wanted to share our reply. We would love to hear what you think. Please leave a comment. The feedback has been really helpful!

I love that question. This might be a little messy, but I’ll try to share how I relate to it…

The purpose simply is, to restore human beauty to its rightful place as a subject of fine art contemplation. There is a world of amazing talent, creating images of models as works of art. You deserve a platform and an audience that appreciates this special gift. So often this type of work is mixed in with puppy photos and landscape paintings… or lumped in with superficial modeling trash.

Your work is stunning! Model Society is designed for you to be surrounded by amazing creativity that inspires you. You can connect with art models who are as passionate as you about creating remarkable art. Our community gives you an opportunity to sell prints (if you choose). You deserve to reach an audience of fans who love you and support your work.

Great art has the power to shock people into a state of deep appreciation. We want to fill Model Society with amazing talent like you. Together we are blowing people away with beauty! I want the world to see human beauty as miraculous. The images we create together can do that.

We are a fairly small tribe, but we are growing fast. The people who join are serious about the work they do. Your images are gorgeous! I hope you will participate.

Sincerely,
David
